Simplify product management process and increase efficiency of CAM programmers

PROJECT OBJECTIVES

The client wanted to offer an integration-ready web platform as product library for effortless product management in the advanced machining industry, compatible with CAM systems.

The objectives were to design, develop, distribute and maintain a solution including:

  • Ergonomic and modern user interface
  • Advanced 3D and 2D model visualization through usage of 3rd party solutions
  • Latest product data available from online catalogs, periodically indexed for better performance
  • Export data to different CAM systems
  • Utilize and spread ISO 13399 standard
  • Localizable solution – new languages and translations and can be added with minimum effort and end user can switch current language with ease
  • Easy to access, use and start working with, tailored to use cases specific to the Industry

IPS EXPERTISE

IPS was involved in the project from the very beginning by  providing business and technical analysis and delivered architecture blueprint . To achieve client’s vision and needs, Azure cloud was proposed and accepted.

During next years, IPS provided a dedicated self-organized team involved in expert consulting, analysis, architectural work, solution designing, UI design, operations and maintenance of the product.

First version of the platform in Azure cloud was a big success and resulted in spinning off other digital products for the client. Occasionally there was  a need for on-prem connected applications deployments.
Product also contains multiple 3rd party integrations for which there was successful collaboration between technical teams from both parties.

One of main objectives was to maintain a healthy technical stack, so it can ease way of development for keeping the solution up to date.
